Well it stayed dry here for the hogmanay / new year festivities which was good, I see other parts of the world didnt fare so well weather wise, the UK suffered with lots of displays cancelled.
Huge celebrations have been held in Romania and Bulgaria to mark their accession to the European Union, 17 years after the fall of Communism. Their entry brings EU membership to 27 - up from 15 three years ago - and a population of half a billion. A recent Eurobarometer poll suggested only 41% of people in the 15 states that were part of the EU before 2004 supported further enlargement. Bulgaria closed two reactors of its Kozloduy nuclear power station in the hours before joining the EU - one of the last remaining conditions of membership. sarcasm*/Our little Johnny is desperate to build another nuclear reactor here maybe he could get the Kozloduy one cheap second hand and when we have an accident down the track he can let in Romanian and Bulgarian experts to clean up the mess, probably 25,000 of them should do the trick./end sarcasm*
